Biographylain Ward was born in the United Kingdom and joined the British India Steam Navigation Company at an early age. He subsequently came to Hong Kong to join the Hong Kong Police Force in the 1960s. Ward is also the author of two books, one of which was on history of the Hong Kong Marine Police.
