BiographyMartin Heyes was born in Liverpool and trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst before being commissioned into the British Army in 1973. He was sent to Germany during the Cold War and later left the Army to join the Hong Kong Police Force in 1975. At the time of the interview Heyes was working in Hong Kong as a historian.
